Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive Saigon (by air)
Arrive at Tan Son Nhat Airport and transfer to your hotel. Today’s city orientation visits Ho Chi Minh’s historic landmarks including the Old Saigon Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral, former Presidential Palace and the Chinese district of Cholon. Overnight in Saigon (-/-/D)
Day 2: Saigon – Cu Chi (road)
Half-day excursion to the famous Cu Chi tunnels, an hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City, to explore the amazing underground tunnel system built by Vietnamese guerrilla fighters during the war. Return to Saigon in time for lunch with remaining time free for exploring its many souvenir shops and galleries. Overnight in Saigon (B/L/-)
Day 3: Saigon – My Tho (Road)
Full day excursion to My Tho in the Mekong Delta, a 2-hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arriving in My Tho, board a wooden boat for a river cruise through the winding canals with a close-up view of daily river life. Stop at one of many orchards to sample the exotic fruits picked fresh from its vine. Drive back to Saigon in the late afternoon. Overnight in Saigon (B/L/-)
Day 4: Saigon – Siem Reap (Air)
Morning transfer to airport for flight to Siem Reap, gateway to the Angkor temple complex. After checking into the hotel, begin exploring the magnificent temples of Angkor including Angkor Wat, the south gate of Angkor Thom and the Bayon. The day concludes with a panorama view of the dramatic sunset from the summit of Phnom Bakheng. Overnight in Siem Reap (B/-/D)
Day 5: Around Siem Reap (Road)
Continue exploration with a visit to mystical Ta Prohm where its original structure, embraced by overgrown roots of giant fig trees, have been preserved by archaeologists as an example of what the entire Angkor complex may have looked like when it was first rediscovered. Other temples in the area include Ta Keo, Chau Say Tevoda, Thammanon, Bantey Kdei and Srah Srang. Overnight in Siem Reap (B/L/-)
Day 6: Departure
