Day 1 : Arrive Vientiane
Arrive Vientiane and transfer to hotel. Free at leisure.
Day 2: Vientiane City (Road); Vientiane – Xiengkhoang (Air)
Visit the city’s major historic sites and landmarks including Wat Sisaket with its thousands of miniature Buddha statues, Wat Prakeo (which once enshrined Emerald Buddha now in Bangkok), Wat Simuang, That Luang, the Patousai Monument, and the central market. In the afternoon, transfer to the airport for a 45 minute flight to Xiengkhoang, a home of the Plain of Jars. Transfer to hotel for the night in Xiengkhoan. (B)
Day 3: Xiengkhoang and its surroundings (Road)
Visit the mysterious Plain of Jars, a plateau 50km wide, within which are scattered over 300 stone jars. The 2,000 year-old jars range in size from 1 to 2.5 metres in height, and are thought to have been used as funeral urns. Drive to a district of Muang Kham, 51km from Xiengkhoang. Stop on the way for visiting different villages of hill tribes such as Tai Dam, H’Mong. Lunch at local restaurant (lunch is not included). Afternoon visit the historic cave of Tam Pew where the local peoples were burned at once by air missile during the war. Return to hotel in Xiengkhoang. (B)
Day 4: Xiengkhoang – Vientiane (Air)
Visit Phonesavanh market then transfer to the airport for flight to Vientiane. End of services. (B)
