MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL 10 Sep 2022
Traditionally celebrating the end of harvest season, the Mid-autumn Festival — Tết Trung Thu — remains one of the most significant in the Vietnamese calendar. It is held on the full moon day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar.
Also known as The Children’s Festival, Mid-Autumn is focused on prosperity and a bright future. Children grow up associating the day with lion dances, feasts prepared for them, and bright red lanterns of their very own.
Children and adults alike also look forward to mooncakes, richly decorated pastries with a variety of fillings. Sample some for yourself, and watch one of the many lion and dragon dance troops as they practice for the Festival.
